FINEST CUT Additional Functions

Clever solutions for efficient working

Element reduction

This function enables contours or parts of contours to be automatically simplified with an adjustable contour accuracy. This means that the size of the NC code is reduced, the cutting performance of the machine improved and the cutting time shortened.

Parallel contour

A dimensionally defined, complete or partial, contour offset can be created in the simplest way and the original contour can be retained or discarded.

Marking texts (with integrated text generator)

Text fields can be defined on the cut pieces, in which either data from the order library or pieces library (drawing no.,customer etc) can be automatically inserted, or even free texts can be entered.

Cutting/engraving characters

All TrueType characters installed on the computer can be vectorised with this function, then optimised with the integrated element reduction and finally cut or engraved. Single letters or complete characters or logos can be produced in this way.

Label output

The labels can be freely defined in shape and content, either with a drawing, texts from library fields, free texts or barcodes.

Reliability-oriented travel path definition

This functions is used for the automatic laying of first-cut flags in order to prevent Z-axis lift, and it generates automatic by-passing for increasing the process reliability.

Circular blank optimisation

The function permits the automatic nesting of parts with a circular shaped outer contour on a prescribed right angle in line with different strategies.

Single piece nesting

This function calculates sensible angle positions and offsets for single pieces, in order to achieve a parquet-type layout. If the multiple layout of one single component on a metal sheet is required, this function opens up to the user the additional opportunity of creating a nesting result with minimised cutting waste.

Data interfaces (2 D)

FINEST CUT provides the following data interfaces for importing drawings:

? DXF/DWG (Data formats from AUTODESK)
? IGES (neutral data format, independent of manufacturers)
? MI (Data format from ME/10/30/CoCreate OneSpace Designer)
? ESSI (widely available data format in NC programs)
? DSTV (Data format of the German Steel Construction Association)
? TRIBON (Data format for shipbuilding)
? Trumpf-GEO (Data format for drawings from TRUMPF)
? Alma (Data format for drawings from ALMA)
? Messer DXF (special data format from MESSER)

With several of these data formats, information about the management of the component is also transferred in addition to the purely geometric information.

There are specially developed interfaces available for transferring several components and orders from one file:

? AutoCAD/Inventor parts list (processing of the parts list integrated in the drawing)
? Klimax-parts list (data format for components from ventilation duct construction)

Other data interfaces can be developed on request.

Cutting bevels Control of tilting burners (2 ½ D cutting)

Many components have to be provided with bevels for further machining. The bevel module in FINEST provides for powerful tools which are easy to learn and which can produce all the usual types of bevels on components. A high level of consideration is given to machine parameters and degrees of latitude of the cutting head, so that an optimum cutting result is created.
